First off, we LOVE our patrons. We appreciate your support over the years. You have made Hale a success and we thank you. We have gotten so many warm letters and emails in the past and we love hearing from our patrons. Let me share just a few comments we have had about Guys & Dolls.
My daughter and I attended Guys & Dolls last night. Her exact words as we left the performance, “My heart it is so happy right now!” WOW! I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you to David for providing fabulous theatre! Thank you to Tregony for her outstanding vision and superb direction in all aspects of this quality performance, thank you to Rebecca for making everyone look like a million bucks! A huge thank you to an outstanding cast who committed 100 percent to their characters, brought us into their world, and captured us hook line and sinker! The chemistry throughout the entire production sizzled! The relationships were fantastic! Not only between Sarah/Sky and Nathan/Adelaide, but between Sarah/Arvide, Sarah/Adelaide, as well as all of your gamblers! Truly enjoyable! Once again, thank you for sharing your hearts with us- In the words of Sarah Brown, “It’s very good…I’ll definitely have another one!”

We wanted to let you know that 8 of us came to Guys and Dolls last weekend and we have all seen the play at least 4 times each from Los Angeles, NYC, Portland and London. We all agreed that we had not seen any better than your production and cast. Congrats on your stellar effort!

Rehearsals are under way for our upcoming production of Born Yesterday. Under the direction of Allan Dietlein, the actors have begun forming their characters and learning their lines. From the looks of rehearsals its going to be a great show!

This last Saturday, our children’s theater production opened with The Princess & The Pea. Kids & Adults of all ages enjoyed this lively production, especially the meet and greet with the cast afterward. There wasn’t a child who didn’t leave smiling from ear to ear after interacting with Princess Olivia, Prince Valiant or Tabitha the Cat. There were even some lucky birthday children here to celebrate with friends and family for their special day. Families agree there’s no better place than Hale to bring everyone together!

Bob Rammelt, the drama teacher from Gila Ridge High School in Yuma, AZ is a man who takes his job seriously. We first met him at a play at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. He was there scouting out possibilities for his school productions as we were for the theatre. Then last Saturday he hired a bus and brought 50 of his students all the way to Tempe to see Mary Poppins and then to Gilbert to see Guys and Dolls. What a great opportunity for his students to learn to appreciate the arts. Kudos to you Mr. Rammelt!

Did you notice the payphone in Guys and Dolls? If you touched it on the way out of the theatre you would have been surprised to realize it was made of wood. Our master carpenter, Brad Alger created that, and along with Wade Oborn, who is our welder extraordinaire…and wears many other hats around the theater, is responsible for all the beautiful sets you see in each production. Brad has been with us now for 2 ½ years and we would be hard pressed to give you the good looking sets you see without him. He is the father of six children, maybe that’s why he is so creative, and we feel lucky to have him.
Wade Oborn is fairly new to us and is surprised to find himself involved in theater. He loves it and says he wished he’d known long ago what fun it is. He is involved in many aspects of the theater from welding, being the prop master, back stage manager, and house manager to name just a few of his responsibilities. Besides that, he, and Brad too, are just plain really nice guys.
